Car driving away from the driveway, seen from the front door

Driving off is enough to lock up

Drivie notices on its own when your ride starts and ends, and tells your Homey. A flow can then lock the front door and arm the alarm as soon as you leave the driveway.

How Drivie recognises a ride

A ride starts as soon as your phone connects to CarPlay or Android Auto, wired or wireless. It runs in the background, even if you never open Drivie.

Without CarPlay or Android Auto, Drivie also recognises a ride from how you move. That works on iPhone and on Android. If you often take the train or bus, turn that off under Settings, Rides.

Flow cards on your Homey

The companion on your Homey adds the cards "A ride started" and "A ride ended", and the condition "Is on the road". That lets you build flows that respond the moment you leave or arrive.

Your rides at a glance

The Rides tab in the app shows how long you were on the road and which flows responded. The end of a ride is sometimes noticed later, but the end time is always set back to the moment the car really disconnected.

Questions

Are rides part of the free tier?

No. Passing rides to your Homey and starting flows when you drive off or get out is part of Drivie Pro.

My ride does not reach my Homey. What now?

First check that Pro is active. If you drive with CarPlay or Android Auto, check that a session really shows on your car screen. If you drive without, Drivie recognises the ride from how you move: turn on "Detect rides without CarPlay or the radio" (iPhone) or "Detect rides without Android Auto" (Android) in Settings, Rides, and give Drivie access to your motion. If that does not help, open Drivie once on your phone.

My Homey sees a ride when I take the train.

Without CarPlay or Android Auto, your phone recognises a ride from how you move, and a train feels the same. Turn off "Detect rides without CarPlay or the radio" (iPhone) or "Detect rides without Android Auto" (Android) in Settings, Rides. Rides with CarPlay or Android Auto keep working.

Why does a ride sometimes end later?

When your phone is still, iOS and Android let Drivie rest, so the end is noticed later. The ride log and ride duration are still right, because the end time is set back to the real moment.
