Control your home without opening the app
When you arrive somewhere, the buttons for that place appear on your lock screen and in a widget. You choose per location which flows, moods and devices are there.
Different buttons per location
For each location you choose up to three buttons. At Home those are usually your lights and flows, elsewhere the things you would otherwise control remotely: opening the door for someone waiting outside, or switching on the heating early.
On your lock screen
On iPhone, a card appears on your lock screen as soon as you arrive, with that location’s buttons. On Android it is a notification with the same buttons. You do not operate a lock, alarm or garage door there: you open the app for that, so you can confirm first.
As a widget, in CarPlay too
The same buttons sit in a widget on your home screen. On iPhone you can also add the widget to CarPlay, to the left of the dashboard. There it only works in cars with a touchscreen.
Questions
Is this part of Pro?
Yes. The widget and the card that follow your location are part of Drivie Pro.
The widget stays empty.
The widget shows the location you last arrived at. It stays empty until you have chosen buttons for that location in Drivie’s settings.
The buttons on the card in CarPlay do nothing.
In CarPlay the card is only to look at: Apple allows no buttons there. The widget only responds in cars with a touchscreen. Otherwise use the Drivie app in CarPlay.
How current is the status on the widget?
With Pro, your Homey nudges the widget itself as soon as a device shown there changes. When you open Drivie, everything is in sync straight away.
